Ground Fielding: Diving, Sliding, and Deceleration
Drop the outside knee behind your hands to form a reliable wall on straight strikes. This saves awkward nutmegs on uneven turf, keeps the ball close to your body, and lets you rise smoothly into a balanced throwing stance.
Ground Fielding: Diving, Sliding, and Deceleration
Lead with your forearm and shoulder, not your wrist, and keep the chin tucked. Land diagonally to slide across the turf, allowing momentum to dissipate. A quick roll gets you upright faster for a throw or tight relay.
